Blocked fountains algae

Reported via mobile in the Park Repairs category anonymously at 13:15, Saturday 6 August 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

The lake is full of algae as the fountains have not been cleared for two years and the current weather has dried up water. Both the lake and the well fountains need to be unblocked and the algae removed as it is a threat to wildlife and is unsightly and smelly

  • Thank you for your report. Following the recent extreme weather conditions, there is clearly a knock-on effect across the borough and the southeast of England. With the announcement from the Met Office, it is the driest January to June period since 1976 and consequently, our streams, ponds and lakes are running dry.

Going forwards, we are looking at best practice and cost-effective ways for dredging and de-silting of our ponds. Please bear with us during this time. NLM. 22.08.2022.
