Dead young fox
Reported via desktop in the Dead Animal category anonymously at 11:59, Fri 12 August 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3749366.
I came across a deceased young fox outside the gates of Kelsey Park in Wickham Road yesterday evening. It had only just been mown down by speeding traffic (as it was still warm and bleeding heavily) which is becoming the norm in Wickham Road and nearby Hayes Lane, with cars and motorcycles daily reaching speeds of 70/80+mph and also racing with one another. We have 3 residential homes for our elderly folk in the immediate area and so, sadly, the residents are in danger each and every time they cross Wickham Road to and from the parade of shops, Kelsey Park and the nearby bus stops. The driver who smashed into the fox cub didn’t even bother to stop to place it in the kerb. I collected the poor fox’s body and it is now (double bagged) on the driveway of 11 Hayes Lane, BECKENHAM, BR3 6QS. Obviously with such high temperatures, I would appreciate it if the fox cub can be collected as soon as possible. Could this Report also be passed to the relevant Councillor responsible for road safety and speeding traffic. Thank you.

When I submitted the above Report, I placed the marker against 11 Hayes Lane, BR3 6QS however, strangely, the marker has move to a nearby road and postal code. I am about to move the deceased fox to the front of our south facing property and so little or no shade.

Also being community-minded and conscious of our local environment, I actually returned yesterday evening, with a watering can to wash away the huge loss of blood.
