Damaged Island slashed my tyre

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 17:38, Friday 12 August 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

On Friday 29th July I was on Tylney Road taking a right turn onto Widmore Road (A222). Upon taking this right turn I suddenly heard a hissing sound and found the driver side tyre had been slashed. On the side of the island that there was a huge piece of metal sticking out of the island and this lead to the slashing of my tyre.

The postcode is BR1 2RG.

As it was after 5pm most trye shops were closed, eventually the RAC did recover my vehicle but I am out of pocket as I now have to pay the excess on my insurance. It was also a very scary experience as I was travelling alone. I would like to be reimbursed for my excess as the road should not be left in this condition. There was a huge chunk missing from the island. It looked as though several accidents had happened there previously. I took a picture at the time but am unable to upload it at present.
