Thu 25 Aug: Grade II listed Milestone in need of TLC

Reported via desktop in the Sign Missing/Damaged category by Friends of Green Street Green Common at 10:41, Thursday 25 August 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

The Grade II listed early/mid 19th Century Milestone in Green Street Green High Street is in need of TLC, as this image - https://www.geograph.org.uk/ photo/ 6044192 - taken 15 years ago highlights. Who is responsible for maintaining old milestones within LB Bromley, and how can we help? For reference, the Grade II listing is here - https://historicengland.org.uk/ listing/ the-list/ list-entry/ 1186827?section=official-list-entry - the Milestone Society listing (ref. KE_LR15) can be found here - https://www.msocrepository.co.uk/ search-options/ basic-search/ - Thanks in advance

  • URGENT: Two months after this Grade II listed Milepost was reported in need of TLC not only has been no action by Bromley Council, but the post has now been knocked over and is lying on the ground in front of the Waitrose store in Green Street Green High Street. What is the protocol for rescuing this item as a matter of urgency for safe keeping pending conservation? TIA
