Trees branches overhanging the Road need pruning

Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 10:19, Tuesday 30 August 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

Some cherry trees opposite 392, 394 and 396 Court Road, BR6 9BX have low overhanging branches over the road, which were not trimmed by the farmer as part of his maintenance, and frequently higher vehicles like the refuse collection and the farmers tractors etc. catch these tree branches and make a mess on the road. The trees should be trimmed back a bit from overhanging on the road, and brought more in line with the rest of the trees and hedges to make it more uniform. We don't why the farmer didn't do this when he trimmed the other branches and hedges. Also, the street now needs sweeping, cleaning, due to the trimmings and debris left behind after the farmer did this maintenance yesterday.

  • We have reviewed the few remaining low branch tips and concluded they do not require additional pruning at this time. No further action will be undertaken to the trees. Please note that our contractors who undertake the hedge flails do not sweep the streets as part of their works. Veolia will sweep the road in due course.

  • I saw the Veolia cleaners this morning, but they only did part of the road near the bottom, but they havent cleaned it all and definitely not from number 388 to the end near 398. Only half a job done, not good, needs completing please. The overhanging trees should be cut back a bit as it's been raised a few times. In storms it is a concern to residents.

  • It's not a separate issue, the street cleaning was already being carried out by Veolia today but they didn't complete the whole street clean, which was affected by the hedge trimmings. They just need to do the rest that was missed.
