Ineffective leaf collection activity

Reported via mobile in the Leafing category anonymously at 07:30, Thursday 8 September 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

A few days ago in St James's Avenue the leaf collection/ road seeping vehicle was driven up and down the road. The vehicle was carefully driven about 8 to 12 inches away from the kerb which collected barely any leaves from the road. The majority of the leaves have been left behind. In some areas there are still huge amounts of leaves. This was a complete waste of time as most of the leaves in the street were remaining after the vehicle left.

  • Today there was a worker using a leaf blower clearing leaves from pavements onto the road. Would it not make sense to combine this activity with the roadsweeping vehicles so that leaves from pavements and gutters around the many parked cars can be blown into the road where the vehicle can collect them? There are so many cars parked that hardly any of the leaves close to kerb can be effectively cleared.
