Fence and bush have fallen from wall
Reported via Android in the Overhanging Vegetation from private land category anonymously at 12:55, Fri 23 September 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
The weight of the unpruned bush on this fence was so great that it's brought it down altogether. The fence will need repairing too, plus the grass on the alley to it needs cutting.
Both sides of the fence and the alley are council / housing association property, but neighbouring properties have a right of way that is currently hindered by the lack of maintenance.

I have reported to Clarion myself as they don't seem to have read their emails - reference number is IWO051556 and the work is booked in for the afternoon of 19th October.

Clarion have now said that the wall this fence has fallen from is not their responsibility, it is part of the The Royal Watermews Asylum behind - the title states the registered owner is "THE MAYOR AND BURGESSES OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BROMLEY". Unfortunately this is becoming quite urgent - several of us have had limited or no access to the garages at the backs of our properties for months now.

Hi, has the Property / Estates team provided more information?

Thank you for your patience. We are still awaiting clarification from our Property Department regarding responsibility for the fence. The alleyway itself is not Bromley owned or maintained and therefore cutting of the grass is not Bromley's responsibility.

Thanks, and yes that's correct on the alleyway, and we've since cut the grass ourselves as Clarion would not respond. The fence is the most important issue.

Thank you for your patience in this matter. Our Legal Department have now reviewed the Council's Deeds for the park and do not believe this fence is for the Council to maintain. Please check the deeds for your property or properties adjoining the service road, as this may provide more information on responsibility.

Hi, please can you share details of which deeds contain this information? The deeds for the land on the other side of the fence do not state responsibility, and Clarion who own that land have decided the fence is for the Council to maintain. Meanwhile those of us with rights of way over this land have limited access.

Apologies for the delay in responding. The Council’s Title to the Square is registered at the Land Registry under Title Number SGL157260 and copies of the same are available to order from the Land Registry.
