Repaving breaking up and destabilizing driveway
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 15:30, Wed 23 November 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3987561.
Relating to 21 Felstead Road, Orpington BR6 9AA Repaving and laying of new driveways took place some months ago by Riley contractors. There re-pointing of my driveway has crumbled due to there being too much sand used in the mortar mix (this began to deteriorate soon after completion of the work). Also they replaced my perfectly good hardcore platform along my front garden with tarmac, the finish of which is out of character and poorly finished as you can see from the photos. This my request for A) the pointing to be repaired to prevent the new driveway from eventually falling apart further and needing greater repair later and B) for the tarmac platform either to be finished properly or replaced with hardcore which I had originally in situ and which was finished properly.

The work was completed in early February whilst we were away on vacation. Your contractors have failed to collect their barrier detailed in the photo attached. Could you please arrange for the barrier to be removed from the outside of the house please. In terms of the repairs it appears they have yet again used too much sand rather than cement probably because sand is cheaper than cement when mixing the mortar. With time it will inevitably crack again and repairs will be needed; also tidiness/clearing up after their work and being able to apply straight lines appears to too difficult for them. Please stop sub-contracting and employ workers who are answerable to the council and not their shareholders.

Hi The contractors repaired my driveway in late January/early February but left behind the the barricade pictured to protect the drying repairs from the elements. It is now mid March and the barricade remains outside my house obstructing the pavement for pedestrians despite repeated request for its removal by the contractors or the council. Can I ask again for this obstruction to be removed please. Thanks you Peter Smith 21 Felstead Road
