Road Subsidence
Reported via desktop in the Road Defect category anonymously at 13:22, Fri 25 November 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3993320.
Despite Bromley Council CONFIRMING that this road subsidence would be properly investigated, and not just resurfaced, Bromley Council MERELY instructed the Contractor to REMOVE road surface to a depth of 300mm, and refill in accordance with highway construction requirements. Bromley Council failed in its duty to protect the residents on this road from further subsidence as the ROOT CAUSE was NOT investigated as promised. Just more lies from a corrupt Local Authority.

As explained in an email sent directly to the reporter on 8th December at approx. 16:25 the area has been assessed by Thames Water who have not identified any issues with their assets here. Work by Bromley’s contractors were for a full depth construction of the surface, binder and base course; there were no concerns identified during those works. Bromley does not seek to undertake large scale excavations to search for possible or potential leaks or broken assets, where any specific issues such as voids occur they will be investigated as to the underlying issue. This is not the case at this location and no further concerns became apparent during the recent works. This report is now closed.
