Tree has not been coppiced, disruptive roots
Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 16:14, Wed 30 November 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4006198.
The oversized tree outside number 66 juts into the highway and has not been managed / pruned in some time. This has resulted in it growing exceptionally large with some branches have falling off recently.
The leaf drop has been too big for the council to manage resulting in blocked drains / localised raised water levels.
Also the roots are so unwieldy that the road is raised and does so without warning. I have seen someone over it when it's dark and there are leaves on the ground (which the tree drops lots of) which is dangerous.
I have recently moved into the area so I believe that this has been happening for some time but not reported. Speaking with other locals and a tree surgeon for advice, most people think it needs to be coppiced.
Please could I ask someone to look into this.

Thank you for your enquiry, please note that as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy (https://www.bromley.gov.uk/ downloads/ file/ 3334/ tree_management_strategy_2016-2020) the Council will not prune trees in relation to the following: • • Where a tree is thought be overly large;
• Excessive leaf fall: this is a seasonal problem and residents are expected to clear any leaf litter falling on their properties themselves. Leaf fall on the highway will be addressed through our street cleansing regime.
Works are raised to crown lift the tree due its low canopy.
The issue regarding leaves on the footway has been referred to the street cleansing team to investigate
