Too many cars parked on this bend
Reported via Android in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 11:57, Fri 2 December 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4009936.
This area is way too congested and the buses gets stuck their multiple times a day. I'm not sure how you solve it but it's a problem constantly. I know residents need parking and some non residence park around here. There must be a way to work out what to do towards the bend to allow easy flow of traffic and on street parking as its getting ridiculous.

This location is being investigated by a traffic engineer to establish whether double yellow lines could be installed.

I don't think a double yellow is an answer because they're are still the same amount of cars that need to park in this area. It would cause more issues, especially outside people's homes that require parking. It would be beneficial if drivers were able to put one wheel on the pavement just at that bend so that there is more space in the road for the bus. People don't want to be restricted or ticketed in this area, especially outside their homes. We just want a compromise from both. Space to park and space for the bus to get through and other large vehicles. Additional yellow lines all even parking white lines would make this nice road horrid. A simple sign saying please park one wheel on the path and people get the message.

A traffic engineer has reviewed this location and unfortunately it is not suitable for wheels up parking on the footway, as some of the footway is too narrow to accommodate this type of parking.
Double Yellow Lines are due to be installed at this location imminently. We will continue to monitor the situation once the lining has been completed to establish whether further investigation is required.
