Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4011181.
Very large fallen tree in centre of road. Has been partially trimmed but huge trunk juts out into road and is a hazard. It also prevents 4 cars from parking on the road. Urgent please as road used by young families and residents.

The road is being obstructed and this needs sorting ASAP. If people park correctly in the bays on the road it prevents large vehicles like fire engines and rubbish lorries getting through. So therefore people are having to over hang bays which then makes it difficult for residents getting onto their drives.

The remains of the fallen tree remain on the road & on the island more than a month after it was blown over. The road is partially blocked & the island bushes are suffering, if not killed, by the large, heavy wood left by the council workers from the 24th. November. When will this all be cleared ?

Picture of the rubbish lorry struggling to get through. And that’s with the parking bay not being used. If that bay was parked in correctly the road it blocked!

My apologies that this enquiry is taking longer than first hoped to resolve. The removal of the tree requires a specialist grab lorry or hiab. This has been ordered and the remains will be removed as soon as we receive delivery. Thank you for your continued patience.

The specialist grab lorry has taken away some of the fallen branches, etc., but not all of them. There are still large branches left lying on the plants on the island. This continued delay in clearing all the fallen parts of the tree must be harming the plats on the island. When will they be cleared ? This has gone on long enough !

Hi, yes the tree cutters came this morning with the chipper and removed the large logs, branches and trunks that were left in the island. We now need the road sweeper to come and scrape the inner kerb as there is still debris.
Can I also ask what the plans are for any replacement trees? I understand that the council usually replace like for like? The tree that fell was a magnificent red oak. Are there plans to plant a similar one and if so when? Thank you

It is not always possible to replace like for like in some cases. Red oaks are prone to fungi colonizing as they get older so planting the same type of tree could be a problem. A Sweet gum (Liquidambar styrasiflua) would be a good option. lovely autumn colour. We can ad this to the list for next years planting. Thank you
