Lack of Double yellow lines causes massive congestion
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 11:34, Friday 6 January 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
Since the creation of a cycle lane on the south side of Lennard Road, by Cator Park (last summer?), the carriageway is now not wide enough for two-way traffic when cars park on the north side. This causes massive congestion at peak times around the school, with drivers mounting the kerb and driving on the cycle lane; and lengthy tailbacks in front of the school and the two crossings. There need to be double yellow lines opposite the cycle lane for the safe passage of vehicles and to avoid accidents.

This is still a huge issue. To ignore or dismiss the intervention would be a massive oversight by the council and any team involved. This needs sorting by having double yellow lines throughout and soon. It causes congestion, its also more dangerous for pedestrians (because it obstructs driving view of the road and pavement)

Single yellows have been applied. Thanks so much. It's made a massive difference.

That’s a move in the right direction but no cars should park at anytime due to the nature of the bottle neck and junction and the danger /congestion it adds
