This problem is now in a very dangerous state with potential for a fatal traffic accident. The tarmac around the manhole is slowly degrading every time a vehicle drives over the manhole cover resulting in the manhole cover becoming extremely loose and in danger of flipping over or snapping and falling into the manhole both of which will cause a very serious and potentially fatal accident.

Emergency works were raised by LBB 02/02/23 to temporarily address the small area of deteriorating carriageway surface directly adjacent to the Thames Water access cover in question. Given that this cover is the property of Thames Water, please note that it is their responsibility to resolve this issue. LBB has already issued them a formal Notice to act, bringing to their attention, also, the noise made whenever a vehicle passes over this cover. All duplicate reports received by LBB in regards to this issue are being referred to Thames Water so they are aware.
