Tree pruning required

Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 18:42, Tuesday 31 January 2023

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

The tree outside our property, number 26 Southbourne is starting to create issues where its roots are under our drive. The same tree has also caused damage to our neighbours front garden wall. The tree has not been pruned in the last 6 years. We have requested the tree be pruned approximately 5 years ago and this has never been done. Please confirm the schedule of maintenance for this tree and advise when you will undertake the pruning. The tree surgeons are currently on Kechill Gdns, so this would be a good time to complete this.

  • As you closed my report I am posting it here, so that you can see the volume of complaints and give them full and appropriate consideration: The tree outside 26/28 southbourne requires pruning. The roots are clearly visible on our property. The roots have damaged our front garden wall for which the council insurance has admitted liability, however the council continues to ignore its duty to maintain this tree. It has damaged our garden wall and both no26 and 28 have had cracks to the front of the property repaired. Further the recent dry summer caused cracking to the plaster in both houses living rooms. The refusal of the council to maintain this tree is hard to comprehend. The council are currently pruning trees on Kechill gardens and could easily add this to its schedule. We would urgently like this tree pruned and we would also like to see proof of the maintenance schedule for this tree.
