  • It has now been two months since March when the council said contractor had been notified to take action. I chased last month and still had the same reply. Could you please let me know how long this is going to take. It was first reported back in February- we are no further along in getting this problem sorted.

  • Thank you for your continued patience, the contractor is in hand to visit site to undertake works.

  • Can you please let me know when this is going to be sorted? Another 3 weeks have passed and still nothing has been done! All the replies are the same - how long does this take to sort? I think I have been patient long enough now. Are you waiting for someone to get seriously hurt or even killed because that is what will happen if a large piece of the tree comes down. A lot of the trees in Kingswood need to be looked at as there is so much dead on many of them that need cutting back.

  • My apologies for the delays in completion of the works raised for the enquiry. The contractor has been instructed to undertake the works as a priority. Thank you for your continued patience.

  • Well yet again I write to follow up! Three weeks ago this job was going to be a priority yet still hasn’t been sorted. I see workers around but if you speak with them they are not interested!! How long will this take? I have been requesting this since February and my patience has finally run out!! There are only so many times you can be told that the contractor is sorting it!

  • Resident called to advise contractors have not yet attended, issue has been ongoing for past 7 months. Please can this be done as a matter of urgency.

Posted anonymously at 12:12, Mon 25 September 2023

  • Resident has again called for progress. This was 1st reported on 21/02/23 and it is now November. The tree in question. It is now becoming more dangerous to houses and passers by. Branches have already started to fall off the tree and landed in gardens where children are playing. This is a matter of urgency as resident fears accident could happen.

  • My apologies, the clear up process following three recent storm events has caused delays to the works raised for this enquiry. The contractor is in hand to visit site to remove dead wood from the tree, thank you for your patience.

Posted by Bromley Council at 11:58, Monday 12 February 2024

  • Well… it has been over a year since this was reported and the last update from 2 weeks ago was blaming delay on storms we have recently had! All the time there are excuses or thank you for your patience! I suppose the next excuse will be there are leaves on the tree or wrong time of year! There is work going on putting new trees in Kingswood Glen and even a new sign recently been added. I haven’t asked for the tree to be cut down just for the dangerous branches to be chopped to save any accidents. I would like a reply asap and not saying contractor been notified!

  • I don’t believe that enough has been taken down from this tree, the contractor wasn’t there long enough, a couple of small branches were removed from the tree but left in the woods - they is still larger branches overhanging. Please could you arrange for the contractor to return to site and prune the tree further.

  • Our contractor was only required to remove the deadwood that affected the path, the tree was not due to be pruned. Under the tree manger strategy, this would be poor arboricultural practice. No further works are required at this time, please reference the Tree Management Strategy for further information.
