This is council land (*see email below), but has not been maintained by the council for many years. Exasperated by the lack of progress after many months of emailing LBB, a group of community members litter-picked the location and piled up the flytipped items for collection. We informed a passing member of Veolia street-cleaning staff and a Business Improvement District representative once complete.
Please note that two of the bags contain glass, some of it broken, so Veolia operatives should take care when lifting those bags, which have been left open deliberately so they can see which they are.
LBB needs to undertake regular inspections of this area to remove litter and flytipped items, as, in its previous state, it was a blight on the streetscape.
Please reply to me by email with an update on the promised and overdue improvements, which include mending the long-broken low wooden barrier along the edge of this sloped land.

As the land in question is not classed as highway it does not fall under the regular cleansing schedule for the area. The matter has therefore been passed to the Council's Property department who are responsible for the maintenance of the land.

10 days later, the rubbish has not been cleared. This is very disappointing. LBB's property department will be encouraging flytipping to be added in this location and undoing our good work unless they act promptly. What is the continued delay, please?
