Severe Potholes

Reported via mobile in the Road Defect category by Janet Blackman at 08:30, Friday 31 March 2023

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4380048.

There are more than 40 potholes on Wood Lodge Lane. The area of potholes near No 62 has become considerably worse over night. I nearly crashed into parked cars this morning trying to avoid it. Further up the hill the potholes are deteriorating by the day. The road is now in a dangerous condition and is the worst in the area.

  • This road has been inspected recently and works have already been raised to repair the pothole where indicated. Surface wear further uphill does not meet with LBB minimum investigatory levels and no further works are planned at this time

  • Thank you. Road meets minimum standards? It does not. There is no road surface in large areas. It is a car destroyer. Many unmade roads are in better condition than Wood Lodge Lane. We always advise people not to approach from the direction of Woodlands to protect their cars and themselves. It is very dangerous for cyclists and motorcyclists.

  • The area has been inspected and assessed that there are no safety defects at investigatory levels present at this time. The investigatory levels for repair in the carriageway it is for localised immediate vertical deflections measuring 30mm deep or more in the trafficked directions. This does not mean that all defects that reach this level will be repaired, just that they may be considered for repair. The road will continue to receive regular inspections and any assessed safety defects identified on those will have remedial works raised. Further deterioration can be reported as a new report via: https://fix.bromley.gov.uk
