Over 25 potholes on Blackness Lane
Reported via desktop in the Road Defect category anonymously at 08:33, Tue 25 April 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4482638.
The potholes on the length of Blackness Lane have been getting worse in recent months. These are dangerous because the narrow country lane is regularly used by cyclists, elderly pedestrians, horse-riders and speeding vehicles. I have photographs of the worst 25 potholes.

As reported, the potholes are along the whole length of Blackness Lane, which is only about half a mile long, so that defines their location. To give just one address or lamp-post, I thought could lead to just one of the potholes being dealt with. As the state was recorded as "no further action," I trust this can now be changed back to "in progress"

This is, unfortunately, the councils way of evading their responsibility. Asking the public to log 25 separate reports is impractical, a pro-active response would be ‘yes, we’ll check this section and mark out the relevant defects for repair’. LBB, please stop passing the buck back to the public and do the job that our taxes pay for.

The information supplied is insufficient to pinpoint the area of deterioration. Specific problems will be investigated with location details or they will be identified as part of the cycle of routine safety inspections of all publicly maintained highways to ensure that maintenance is undertaken as effectively and efficiently as possible.
