Wheelie Bin taking up the pavement on The Drive outside the decorating shop.

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 17:37, Thursday 11 May 2023

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4543416.

This wheelie bin has been like this for a few days now taking up half the pavement, there are also some red ones behind, not sure if they should be there either.

  • My husband who is a wheelchair using living in this road went by this obstruction this morning and noticed the bins were still there. As this a residential road, it is an eyesore for the residents and a hazard for wheelchairs/prams. Would appreciate it if those businesses in the High Street backing onto The Drive kept their bins behind their properties and not on our road. I presume they move them so they can park there.

  • The business premises are still leaving their bins on The Drive taking up most of the pavement, why can this problem not be solved? There must be regulations you can use to prevent this hazard. The overflowing bin which now smells disgusting is from the martial arts place at no 248 The High Street. These pictures are from this morning.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Still there Saturday 17 June. Bin belongs to 248 High Street, saw employee from there filling the bin this morning. They’ve obviously ignoring your advice to move the bins to their area behind their premises.

  • Thank you for your additional comments. Waste company Biffa have been contacted again and advised that the bins cannot be left on the pavement.
