Roadworks in same location after 2 weeks respite after 4 weeks of works
Reported via iOS in the Utility Works and Temporary Traffic Lights category anonymously at 10:49, Sat 13 May 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4549142.
WHY has the road/junction been dug up AGAIN after 2 weeks of a lengthy 4 week works??? WHY couldn’t BOTH jobs be done at the same time. Unless it was an emergency, words fail all the residents on the level of stupidity, incompetence and a hundred more adjectives to describe the sheer stupidly of not doing two jobs on the same junction at the same the same time. DO BETTER

Thank you for your enquiry.
Both sets of works are un-planned urgent works.
UK Power Networks worked here originally to make repairs to an urgent electrical fault.
SGN are now on site to make repairs to an urgent gas leak.
If these had been planned works then The Council would have arranged for collaborative working to go ahead to minimise disruption to residents as it does with other works across the borough.
This is an unavoidable situation due to the both works being un-planned and urgent works.
