Overgrown trees
Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 18:07, Wednesday 24 May 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4592309.
The trees along these stairs are very overgrown. They make the stairs very dark & unsafe with fallen debris. The trees also block natural light into the gardens. There are random large twigs & often branches falling in the gardens putting family & pets at risk when outside.

This tree has been inspected and no action is to be taken regarding the reported tree. Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. Please note that as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy (https://www.bromley.gov.uk/ downloads/ download/ 422/ tree-management) the Council will not prune trees in relation to the following: • Branches overhanging properties • Where a tree is thought be overly large • Interference with satellite, TV or other media reception • Branches and/or limbs in physical contact with telephone wires • Excessive leaf fall • Fruit fall • Problems associated with pollen • Excreta caused by insects or birds • Obstruction of view • Lack of light. The situation will be reviewed cyclically as part of our programme of tree condition surveys and safety inspections.
Please note as per the 1984 Telecommunications Act, all service providers are responsible for maintaining their own overhead line infrastructure. In the case of phone cables, please contact OpenReach as they are responsible for the repair and upkeep of these lines including pruning back of street trees.
