Very long grass in the grounds of St John's Church Penge

The church grounds of St John's Church Penge facing the High Street are maintained regularly by Bromley Council. The grass in the grounds is currently very long (presumably because of No Mow May?). As part of Penge Festival 2023, the Penge Festival committee and the church are organising a Teddy Bear's Picnic event for local families and their preschool children on the morning of Monday 12th June. There will be lots of activities taking place on the grass in front of the church including a soft play area, craft activities, best dressed teddy competition and a big family picnic. The current height of the grass means that these activities will not be able to take place. We are sure that the grass will be cut in due course and recognise that the contractors who carry this out will be in much demand, but would ask if it is possible for the grass to be cut before the 12th June so this event can take place? We would be so grateful if this could be done.

Thank you so much for taking such prompt action. This is really good news and means the Penge Festival Teddy Bears' Picnic can now go ahead :-)
