Large plants obscuring view of shared cycle pedestrian route
Reported via desktop in the Grass Verge Cutting category anonymously at 11:10, Tue 6 June 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4637510.
It's admirable to leave wild flowers for bees but now the Anthriscus sylvestris is leaning over into the path and turning to seed, along with large nettles, it's causing a risk of collision at pinch points, especially as the signs instruct cyclists and walkers to be on one particular side of the white line. Would it be possible please to trim just where there is no room to pass or where vision is restricted on bends in the route. I'd like to suggest leaving more green verges uncut where they are adjacent to roads, not causing an issue for cyclists and walkers sharing the same two metres of tarmac. Thank you.

Action notified on 6th June still hasn't been carried out. If two cyclists are on the same side (as directed by paint on path) and cycling in opposite directions, especially now with electric bikes and [illegal] scooters, it will be no surprise if there is a collision before long, and that might be with a child. Today a cyclist (cycling slowly) nearly collided with my shopping bag as everyone is walking/cycling near the middle. There is also more dog excrement now at the sides of the path. In a borough that putatively wants to encourage cycling and walking, there's balance to be made between people and bees and butterflies. Why not grow the grass verges long on residential streets where there is no danger to pedestrians and cyclists?
