Thank you for your enquiry. The tree has sadly died and a job has been raised for its removal with a replacement added to the planting schedule 2023/24 which is in hand to be planted next season starting in November running through to March 2024.

This tree is still standing but there is a yellow marker on it so hope still to be done. It is a bit worrying though that a tree just a few metres away has been chopped down. Hopefully they haven’t made a mistake and chopped wrong tree

Still open, via questionnaire
Thank you for your comments. As Officers we receive many enquiries, often more than one for the same street/road. For a separate incidence reported by a member of the public, it was picked up that the second tree had significant strimmer damage which the tree poorly occluded leading to the development of dysfunctional wood (rot) forming affecting the structural integrity of the tree, resulting in the tree being removed on the grounds of health and safety. For this enquiry, the tree that succumbed to drought stress last year and has prematurely died this year, the contractor is in hand to remove the tree with a replacement added to the planting schedule 2023/24.
