IdVerde vehicle operating dangerously in Cator Park

Reported via desktop in the Security Issues category anonymously at 21:59, Wednesday 20 September 2023

Sent to Bromley Council 1 hour, 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 5015552.

On Sunday 17th September, at about 11:00 am I observed an IdVerde vehicle on the bin emptying run driving significantly faster than the usual walking pace safety restriction. This was across the bridge over Chaffinch Brook and along the pathway next to the children's playground. In addition to the speed the lone driver performed a 3 point turn at the main gate to the play ground and reversed about 25 metres to the bin adjacent to the bridge across the Beck. This was without a banksman or any audible warning on the van. As there were a large number of children playing in the play ground and outside on the logs opposite the playground this manoeuvre was reckless and dangerous. If this is the approved operating procedure IdVerde need to review the risk assessment for this job. If not the driver needs additional training.
