Trees outside 2D Need Urgent Pruning

Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 23:05, Wednesday 20 September 2023

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5015833.

Hello Bromley Council,

I am reporting the problem with trees that require urgent pruning. Trees are growing into the windows of our houses, they block sunlight, their leaves are constantly blocking the rainwater drain pipes which results in the damage to the walls of our houses.

These trees are long overdue pruning and were last pruned in 2019. I contacted you earlier this year (and before that in February 2022) and was told that trees will be pruned in 2023. See the last report here - https://fix.bromley.gov.uk/ report/ 4248149.

The problem is still not resolved with only 3 months left till the end of 2023. Can you please confirm when the works are going to be carried out ?

Regards

  • Thank you for your enquiry. As reported on the previous enquiry you made, all of the trees on this road are due to be pruned at some point during 2023 and this may extend into 2024. The works are with our contractors. Please note that they are currently attending more safety critical works across the Borough. Also note that these cyclic cuts to London Plane trees are often done in the winter months. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
