Annually, there are three applications of weed spray, typically applied in spring, summer and early autumn on paved highways (subject to appropriate weather conditions). Once sprayed 'dieback' should occur within seven to ten days under normal conditions before the residue is removed through routine scheduled street cleaning activities.

Ok thanks for the information BUT these weeds have been here for over 10 days. Can you tell me when the last spray occurred and when the next one is due?

The next weed spraying programme is due to start on 29 September and will take about 4/5 weeks to cover the whole borough. The last spray began at the end of June '14. JS for JFA 18/9/14

Ok thank you. I'll kee an eye out for that. Regarding the removal of the weeds after dieback it doesn't look like this has been done - see picture. Can this please be attended to urgently? Thanks

Tree pits will not be sprayed if the trees are 100mm or less thick, looking at your photo, both of these trees look under 100mm thick and the weeds will have to be manually removed. This is not a problem but I will need more information, could you please give me the house numbers of the effected tree pits which are located outside? This would be a great help with direction to our contractor. Many thanks, JR - 19/09/2014

Thanks JR! The pits are the only ones on this road so shouldn't be too hard to find but for completeness they are outside 17/19. Thanks.
