Ash dieback Lower Chesham Allotments
Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category by Steven Cropper at 13:18, Wed 19 June 2024
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6127487.
Hi I am the Secretary for my local allotment association, Lower Chesham Allotments Ltd, of which Bromley Council is the landlord and therefore responsible for trees on the site. We have a case of what looks like ash dieback affecting a large and mature ash tree on the site. We have had a small branch already fall off last autumn and land on a shed. There are some significant limbs of the tree with corrosion of the bark where they join the main trunk; if one of those came down, there is a significant risk of personal injury and or property damage. As the landlord of the site, can you please arrange through me to have a certified arborist to come and inspect the tree and advise on next steps as soon as possible. Kind regards
Steven Cropper Lower Chesham Allotments Ltd. 68-70 Chesham Road London SE20 7RP

Please accept our apologies for the delays, the works have been taken off our incumbent contractor and issued to a third party contractor for completion. We envisage that the contractor will take 6-8 weeks to complete them.

Please note that the contractor cannot just "arrive at site" soon or otherwise, without first coordinating with me on 07776 154 669. Thanks, Steven Cropper

Resident has called as they have been speaking to a member of the council in environmental health in regards to the tree on the allotment. Email previously issued from council stating a member of the council will be there to carry works out but this is a locked site so will need to contact resident to arrange this. Please can this be raised and contact details can be found in report further up.
