Stinking Wheelie Bins

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 12:27, Friday 5 July 2024

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6194826.

General waste wheelie bins are still being put out on the pavement. Why can't these house holds (5, 9, 11, 17, 33) place their bins on their own property like everyone else. They are not giving the correct pavement clearance of at least 1.2 metres for the users of wheel chairs and push chairs...... Also these bins are over flowing and are smelling........

Presenting your waste and recycling for collection

We provide a collection service for your household waste. This waste should be put out for collection by 7am on your collection day. Your waste needs to be securely contained and placed at the front of your property within arm's reach of the pavement (edge of curtilage) but not on it. We will collect household waste that fits easily into a standard size dustbin. If you are using your own wheelie bin or similar to contain your waste, the waste needs to be bagged in standard size refuse sacks to enable safe collection.

  • Number 5 is now leaving their large garden waste wheelie bin on the pavement for 3 days now and not within in property. Why should this pavement become an Obstacle Course when trying to use a push chair.

  • Why are these properties STILL being allowed to dump their Wheelie Bins on the pavement and not placed on their property waiting for collection???

I am feed up trying to maneuver around these stinking and wet bins whist pushing a wheelchair.

  • Why is number 5 allowed to leave their garden waste wheelie bin out on the pavement for 24 hours ??????????????????????????????????????????????? Bromley web site clearly states

  • This wheelie bin has been left on the pavement now for 3 days

I find it difficult pushing my push chair around this bin as there is not enough clearance on the pavement, which should be at least 1.2meters.. This bin should be placed in their front garden and NOT left on the pavement for days.

  • Why are numbers 5, 19 and 21 Glanfield Road still being allowed to put their wheelie bins out on the pavement after the council stated that letters have been sent out that this is not permitted.

Letters have been sent to the properties that have left containers on the public highway following a visit from the neighbourhood officer.

  • Stinking and dirty wheelie bins are still being put out on the pavement by number 5 who now decided to put out 2 black bins full of card board on the pavement. I have to keep moving 3 young children away from these bins whilst taking them to school and trying to maneuver a push chair at the same time. I was on the under standing that letters had been sent out to these properties 'We have notified the responsible party of their duties and responsibilities and informed them that further enforcement action may be taken if the issue is not resolved' Then why is it STILL HAPPENING?????
