Dirty road

Reported via desktop in the Street Cleansing and Litter category anonymously at 11:53, Saturday 3 August 2024

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6311072.

On Saturday morning I spent well over an hour and a half cleaning up the north end of Copers Cope Road and then the lower end of Worsley Bridge Road down to the Lewisham boundary. For my efforts I received a car parking fine as I left my Yaris in Copers Cope Road as there is so much rubbish I find the purple plastic bag too heavy to carry any distance. The rubbish comprises countless glass and plastic bottles and of course Macdonald’s take always etc. Now there is a huge new housing development near the Lewisham boundary and along with the Crystal Palace sports ground there has been a huge concomitant increase in garbage. I have been doing my best efforts as a street friend but I do think more attention must be paid by your own street cleaning as well. Frankly it needs cleaning at least once a week in addition to my own efforts. I am going to appeal my parking fine which in the circumstances seems grossly unfair given my efforts to clean up the road.
