  • Email from csc inbox: I would like an update on the report made on 25th August about an issue with the pavement outside of a property we manage, reference - 6396546. I would like to know what action is being taken to resolve this as I have been informed that an elderly resident has previously been seriously injured due to this problem. There is a large section of pavement directly outside the property that causes water to pool constantly, no matter what we do. This froze over in the winter and the resident fell and broke their arm. This needs resolving in the short term. Please get back to me as soon as possible.

  • No action has yet been taken - please can we have an update?

  • Resident has called for update. Works still need to be carried out before this becomes more of a hazard in the coming winter months. Please can a update be provided.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. This enquiry was updated on the 23rd of September saying a job has been raised with our contractor. We don't currently have a programme date but the works will be completed shortly.

  • Resident has called for update as this is a urgent request due to the location of this. please can this be confirmed.

  • Could I please have an update on the above? We need to understand how long this issue is likely to be outstanding as there are serious health and safety concerns surrounding this problem. The attached pictures were taken two weeks ago and as you can see, there is a constant pool of water. This area has to be walked through in order to exit the property and now due to the cold weather, this puddle has iced over. This could be extremely dangerous for the residents of the property, so we would appreciate if this could be expedited.

  • We have still not received a response on the below. Could we please have an update as this could turn into a serious hazard, not only for the residents but for the general public, as hundreds of people likely have to walk past this area every day. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Call from a resident to inform us a elderly resident has actually fallen and broken their elbow as this puddle/area has now frozen over, please could there be an update on when the work will be carried out and resolved.

  • Resident called back as this area has not been resolved as of yet and is worse, dangerous and a hazard for pedestrians in the area, is there a further update as to when this will be resolved?

    • Please give brief details of your complaint or compliment below: A report was raised on Fix My Streets in August in regards to an unsafe section of pavement outside a property that we manage. The only real response we've had was given on the 23rd September stating: "A defect on the Surface Water drainage assets at this location has been verified and remedial works are now on our works schedule." I have been steadily chasing for updates on when this will be carried out, but have not received a response in months. This is a serious health and safety issue that led to a elderly resident getting injured due to falling over when the puddle froze over. This issue is not being taken seriously and needs to be progressed urgently. • What action (if any) would you like us to take? I would like to be provided with a date for when these works will be carried out and for it to be completed within the short term. • Have you already spoken to somebody in the Council about this matter? yes • If yes, and you know who you spoke to please provide details and dates: There is a very lengthy set of correspondence that has been posted publicly on Fix My Streets, which details the lack of response from the Council.
