The recycling facility in Hayes in the Iceland carpark is woefully inadequate and has been for a decade.

Reported via desktop in the Environmental Services category anonymously at 11:38, Tuesday 7 January 2025

Sent to Bromley Council 1 week, 20 hours, 7 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 6944259.

There is not enough capacity for cardboard, clothing, metal and plastic - it is often massively overloaded and needs to be upgraded as a priority to provide at least double the existing capacity. Due to a lack of capacity it leads to flytipping around the receptacles weekly. • What action (if any) would you like us to take? Upgrade the facility to increase capacity for all types of recycling: glass, cardboard, clothing, plastic and cardboard.

  • The paper pod on site was damaged and could not be moved or emptied, this has now been fixed. In regards to capacity, we are aware that this site is extremely popular and the neighbourhood officer will be investigating, monitoring and raising this with the management teams and contractors to see if capacity can be increased N05
