Overhanging trees from Langley Park Golf Course

Reported via mobile in the Private Tree overhanging highway category anonymously at 23:18, Tuesday 28 January 2025

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7049559.

I am a regular user of Red Lodge Road, there are a number trees whose trunks are in the Golf Course. Many of the trees and particularly the one in the photo has an exceptionally large bough that could drop at any time onto the road. Potentially this could cause a serious injury. It is so important that these trees are preserved with correct pruning by a skilled arborist. Can I suggest this road is walked and a Risk Assessment carried out

  • Thank you for your response. I am fully aware of who is responsible for trees at this location. As the council responsible for Red Lodge Road and Public Safety you have a Duty of Care to put pressure on Langley Park Course to deal with this. A Safety Officer from Bromley Council needs to carry out a Risk Assessment at this location with a representative from the Golf Course

  • In first instance it is important to emphasise that every owner or occupier of land has the Duty of Care to keep the property under their control or ownership in a safe condition. This means that said persons are legally responsible for their property and its maintenance. There is no imminent danger to the public from these trees at this location.
