Small fire in Whitehall Recreation
Reported via mobile in the Security Issues category anonymously at 10:50, Wednesday 11 June 2025
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7692896.
I was woken at just after 04.30 this morning by people shouting at one another in the park. Shortly after that I noticed smoke coming from near the hedge line. Thankfully it was put out or extinguished itself fairly quickly, however, I am very concerned about this due to the fact that we are experiencing drier weather (luckily we have had quite heavy rain over the last week). I walked over to site this morning and could still feel heat where the fire was. The garden of my house backs directly onto the park and has the hedge line as a backdrop (which I love and certainly would not wish for it to be removed) but my real concern is the potential for something like this getting out of hand…
