Public tree requires pruning - health and safety concerns to pedestrians / road users

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8278482.
The large plane tree on pavement Kent House Lane (between Cricket Lane and Gardener Industrial Estate approx 50 feet from Cricket Lane - same side of road ), has grown so big it is causing various health and safety risks ie: The street light, lighting has been obscured by branches, so much that this is causing a potential danger and safety implications to pedestrians walking on the pavement at night because the area is so dark in the Winter. By obscuring the street light it also presents dangers and risks to nearby residents. This tree has also extended over the roofs of at least 3 of the nearby terraced houses, causing damage to roof tiles which has required replacement, caused by debris / branches from tree falling. In addition to the above the tree has encroached into the road so much so that it hits the roofs of high sided vehicles which causes a catapult affect which potentially presents danger to pedestrians / other drivers should the branch breaks off. Potential damage to roof of vehicles when residents pulling off driveways. Thank you.

This matter has not been resolved. The tree contractors stated that they had only been told to cut three sides of the tree and therefore there is still the risk of damage to property (terraced houses) and vehicles on driveways due to the fact that this side that was not touched by contractors; thus still presenting health and safety risk to residents / visitors, for the same reasons given as in the initial report. In addition to this the council have recently marked an area where the roots of said tree have lifted the public pavement, however there is evidence that the roots are causing damage to residents driveways (paving slabs cracked and lifted). Bromley Council were contacted whilst the contractors were on site in hope that this could be resolved whilst they were on site, thus saving the council costs for a repeated visit and concerns given. Myself and my neighbours do not understand the rational for such decision as a tree grows as a whole and why issues were not been addressed in one visit. The contractors also advised resident re obtaining a quote for said works and supplied a business card.
