Broken/abandoned vehicle in Kings Hall Rd

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned vehicle category anonymously at 09:40, Sunday 16 November 2025

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8424920.

This blue Audi, with is front passenger side/wheel smashed in, has been left unmoved, unattended, on the sound-bound side of Kings Hall Rd for several weeks now. It causes the north/southbound traffic flows to be ‘squished’ during peak hours, especially if/when vehicles are parked on the opposite side. Please can the council review this/ find the owner/advise accordingly.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report, this is now being investigated. Information on our services and the timeframes we aim to respond in can be found: http://www.bromley.gov.uk/ fixservices

  • We have investigated this report and found the vehicle to be taxed; a taxed vehicle is a strong indicator of an interested party and therefore the vehicle is not considered to be abandoned at this time and no further action will be taken. You can check the tax status of a vehicle online via: https://www.gov.uk/ check-vehicle-tax. Insurance or MOT issues should be directed to the Police as Bromley do not have the statutory powers to deal with this type of offence.

State changed to: No further action

  • At what point would the council consider this vehicle to be abandoned then? It’s already been almost 3 weeks.

  • For clarity, Bromley Council remove vehicles which are untaxed or deemed abandoned following an investigation. This vehicle is taxed and accident damaged. In the case of an accident the Police are responsible for moving/relocating the vehicle so as not to obstruction pending collection from the relevant Insurance Company. This vehicle is not considered abandoned, it is not untaxed, and contrary to the information provided by the Police, the responsibility and as accident damaged vehicle does indeed sit with them. We will, however, monitor the area to ensure that third parties i.e. Insurance company remove the vehicle shortly.

  • There is no legal definition of an abandoned vehicle. The Council's policy is that if a vehicle is taxed then it is considered to have an interested party and therefore not abandoned. In cases where a vehicle is extensively damaged then each will be considered separately and a decision made on its condition.
