Sign damaged - Shire Lane
Reported via mobile in the Sign Missing/Damaged category anonymously at 14:52, Sunday 1 February 2026
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8814227.
Hi. I have reported this issue several times and it has been incorrectly marked as fixed on each occasion, despite no remedial works having been carried out.
Previous FMS reports: • 7323273 • 7869649
On both occasions the reports were closed, yet the sign remains in the same condition. Please can you explain why this defect continues to be marked as resolved, and what inspection or verification process is being used before closing these reports.
The sign is badly leaning over and not clearly visible. As the highway authority, the Council has a duty under Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980 to maintain traffic signs in a safe and usable condition.
I would be grateful if this could be properly inspected, repaired, and confirmation provided once the issue has genuinely been resolved.

Hello. I see this is been marked as ‘contractor to take action’. While we wait for a permanent repair, please can an LBB Manager explain why this defect has been marked as resolved several times despite nothing happening, and what inspection or verification process is being used before closing these reports. Thanks.
