  • Our service provider attended the location today. The areas maintained by Veolia have been litter picked, swept and cleared. The litter within and around these railings is private property/land which is not under our remit.

Thank you for using FixMyStreet to report your concerns to Bromley.

  • We are continuing to investigate and working to resolve this report

Posted by Bromley Council at 07:32, Thursday 12 February 2026

  • Thank you for your enquiry. We are currently unable to carry out the clearance as the fencing forms part of the secured gate associated with the ongoing bridge works, and we are therefore unable to gain access to the enclosed area at this time.

We will arrange for the litter to be cleared as soon as access becomes available.

  • Thank you for your response.

If the fencing in question has been installed by an LBB/Idverde contractor, in this case Land & Water Ltd (https://www.bromley.gov.uk/ news/ article/ 910/ work-to-construct-kelsey-park-bridge-underway), then responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of the streetscape sits with LBB. The presence of secured fencing does not remove that obligation.

It’s important that the area is kept clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and passers-by, regardless of access constraints or ongoing works.

I would therefore expect LBB to liaise directly with Land & Water, as the appointed contractor, to ensure the enclosed area is cleared and kept tidy, rather than deferring action until access becomes available at a later date.

Please confirm when this will be addressed.

  • Nothing has been done and the litter is still there.

This has been repeatedly reported and closed as “fixed” when it clearly isn’t. The fencing is part of council-commissioned works, so responsibility for keeping the area clean still sits with LBB and its contractor.

Is anyone actually looking at this, or does anyone care?

Please confirm when the litter will be cleared.
