The front garden is being used for parking a car and where the car enters clock house road it is dangerous.

Several years ago building work was completed at the house on the junction of clock house road and croydon road. An entrance wide enough for a car was created from the pavement into the front garden, previously only a pedestrian gate, with the intention of parking a car. This was reported and Bromley advised that this should not happen as a car entering or exiting there is coming out or reversing at the point of a regular pedestrian crossing with island in the middle of the road, and where cars are coming across the Croydon road from the roundabout and needing to turn left into Clock house road. Any blockage there can cause further problems. For a long time this was adhered to and the gate remained closed with no car parking. Now it is being used for a car again and the risks remain the same as when it was originally reported - it is a very dangerous corner to have a car trying to reverse in or coming out of the space. Please can you look into this.

    On Friday 13 March at 21.17pm this issue occurred again. The owners of the house reversed their car into the front garden, blocking Clockhouse Road and we were in the car waiting to come off the roundabout and turn left into Clockhouse Road and couldn't because they were blocking the road. They did leave the garden empty for a few days last week but they were parked there on Sunday 15 in the evening and today Monday 16 March.

  • Thank you for your update. A final warning letter has been sent to the property advising that they must cease crossing the highway with their vehicle, with bollards being installed if they continue. If you could again update this record with any further instances it would be appreciated.

    For just over a week there was no car parked at the front of the house. The three pictures above show that on 11 April 26 at 17.04 a car was parked there again. I drove by on 12 April 26 at about 2pm and the front was empty (no photo). The second picture shows that at 16.21 on 12 April 26 the car was back. The third picture shows no car on 13 April 26 at 16.48.

    Entering and exiting the space in front of the house is continuing to happen. For most of last week it was empty. on 28.4.26 at 10.59am the car was there (first picture) at 17.12pm on the 28.4.26 it was gone (second picture but from the other side of the roundabout) on 2.5.2026 third picture it was back again. You didn't acknowledge my last update so if I need start a new report please let me know currently I am following the instructions that you gave to update the reports.
