• Thank you for your enquiry. LBB aim to replace all trees within the first 3 years of removing a tree, providing the location remains viable.

  Reasons a Tree Pit may be empty can include but are not limited to:

  • Underground services no longer allow trees to be planted. • Crews can remove the tarmac cap. • Tree pits have been permanently closed. • Tree pits are on the LBB list for next planting season (Nov to April).

  Any residents who are willing to help water, weed and mulch around the base of trees in addition to LBB regular maintenance are welcome.

  A replacement is currently on the planting schedule 2026-27 where planting roughly runs from November 2026 to March 2027.

• Resident has called as there has been a team come to the address to fix the pavement of where the tree is due to be planted. The workers have left materials and barriers outside the property from when the works were carried out on the 6/6/26. Resident would like a update but also would like a replacement tree placed.

• Thank you for your comments. This enquiry has been referred to HW's to give an update on the repairs to the footway. To give an update on replacement planting: In line with Policy 4 of the Council’s Tree Management Strategy, the Council will seek to plant a replacement tree where one has been removed. This is subject to the ongoing viability of the location, including factors such as site constraints, underground services and species suitability, as well as the availability of resources at the time of planting. Where viable, replacement planting is typically undertaken within the following two planting seasons which are generally between November and March, and requests are therefore considered and scheduled within this seasonal programme rather than on an immediate basis.
