Soil removed at base of young tree, roots exposed.

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9237940.

Hole has been dug and soil removed at base of this young tree. The roots are exposed and tree may die due to very dry hole now filling with litter. (see photos)

  • Hole has been filled with dry bark chippings. These will not provide the tree roots with the necessary moisture or nutrients for growth. Compost and topsoil should be used - as used for the two trees next to this middle tree. The root will be exposed to drought in the summer and freezing temperatures in the winter, causing the tree to die off. Please remove the bark chippings and infill hole with soil and give the tree a regular watering to help this recover. Many thanks.

  • Thank you for the comment, no further works are actioned. the contractor has filled the hole to prevent a hazard. the trees roots are in soil. The wood chip will rot down and help with the trees future growth.
