Dear Sir / Madam

As per my telephone conversation this afternoon, I am forwarding for your attention the message below which is currently circulating on many WhatsApp groups : -

To anyone who has a dog please be aware that someone has put poison in kibble, down at well woods, sparrows den, beckenham place park, kelsey park, lloyd park and Harvington. Do not walk near pavements. Police are at well woods now and the vets are also on it as well. One dog has sadly died.

I have spoken with the police, who are not aware, and they suggested contacting yourselves.

Best regards

  • Following further communication with Bromley Police, an update was posted via their platform Met Engage which said : - The team just wanted to send out a message following a number of communications about rat poisoning in local parks, with residents concerns about their dogs. There have been no incidents recorded in the Bromley area, with only one incident recorded in the Bexley area, which did not consist of an injured animal. We appreciate that this can be distressing for people but it should be reminded that social media is not always completely accurate, so sharing information you don’t know to be correct can cause undue concern.
