Incorrectly designated “bee area” – safety, access and nuisance problem

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9610193.

The grass verge outside the bungalows 51-65 on Cameron Road has been left uncut and I was informed it is a “designated bee area”. However: • There is no statutory signage, unlike other designated verges in the area • Residents received no consultation or notification, despite the verge directly affecting access to our homes • The overgrowth is now obstructing visibility, making it difficult for delivery drivers and potentially emergency services to locate our OFF ROAD properties • Weeds from the verge are blowing into our gardens, causing property nuisance and undermining paid‑for weed‑control treatments • Dumped items AND DOGS MESS BAGS are accumulating in the long grass

This appears to be a mistaken or inappropriate designation, and the verge does not meet the criteria for a biodiversity zone due to its location, usage, and the need for clear sightlines.

Please review this verge urgently and reinstate scheduled mowing.

  • I was advised that this would be fixed in the next few weeks and it hasn’t. Please provide a date for resolution. This is now a danger hazard for the reasons given above.
