Lots of litter in gutter

Reported via mobile in the Litter and Detritus category anonymously at 11:15, Sunday 5 July 2026

Sent to Bromley Council 2 weeks, 9 hours, 12 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 9735026.

Reported months ago but litter is still there. It would be appreciated if some care and attention could be shown to get the litter here removed as looks tatty and neglected and reflects badly on LBB and the borough. Thanks.

  • The A21 is subject to mechanical sweeping operations in accordance with the planned sweeping schedule. Cleansing or litter picking beyond that which can be cleared through mechanical sweeping can only be carried out in conjunction with TfL and their service providers under suitable traffic management to ensure the safety of our contractor's operatives and the public on this stretch of fast-moving dual carriageway. We have and will continue to clear what we can safely access on a routine basis, with the remainder to follow in due course as standard.

  • Hello.

This response doesn’t actually confirm that a mechanical sweeper has been sent to this location. Instead, it repeats the standard process.

Please arrange for a mechanical sweeper to attend this location and confirm when this has been scheduled. If access requires coordination with TfL and traffic management, then please make those arrangements rather than leaving the issue unresolved indefinitely.

The litter has been reported repeatedly. A clear update with an expected timescale is now needed, not another generic response about routine operations that don’t happen.

    Thanks.

  • Thank you for your additional comments. Another visit was carried out this morning to help improve the current situation. This report will now be closed as the standard of cleansing is deemed satisfactory.
