Roadworks near LLoyds Bank - nothing being done!
Reported via desktop in the Utility Works and Temporary Traffic Lights category anonymously at 14:26, Wednesday 8 July 2026
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9754589.
Road works (water services?) under traffic light control have been causing disruption for 2 weeks now. The bus stop outside Lloyds Bank has been closed the whole time meaning that the many elderly folk who rely on buses to access the shopping centre are being forced to walk from Church Hill or the War Memorial in this extreme heat! An excavation outside No 188 High Street has been left for many days now with no work apparently being done. I pass this point multiple times a day and whilst I have seen the odd van or minidigger parked up, I haven't seen any work being done this week at all. Meanwhile, old and vulnerable people are being put at unnecessary inconvenience and risk. Can someone please get these people to finish the job and allow our much needed bus services to operate normally again. Ironically, there's a water leak outside the old Nat West Bank which will require MORE, no doubt protracted, roadworks in the near future. Is it too much to ask that these works are carried our efficiently to minimise disruption?
