Redundant "recycling banks" sign, could be removed?

I think the recycling sign here is redundant and can be removed...

On lamppost column (with number C51 03), at the junction of Crystal Palace Station Road with Ledrigton Road, there is "recycling banks" sign pointing up Ledrigton Road. But the recycling banks that used to be at the top of Ledrington Road have been gone for a few years, I think. So this sign could be removed?
